Photographers are often asked to photograph products and need models to get the perfect shot! Some models have no idea how to get ready for a shoot, and that can be really time consuming for photographers-- especially in post production, as it might add a lot of retouching time!
Every photographer has come across a model with eyebrows not waxed, dry skin, body hair or tan lines. While these "problems" can be fixed after a shoot, they are somewhat bothersome to correct and could be solved beforehand by the model. But sometimes models don’t realize that these things can be a problem for us. So before you show up for a shoot, make sure you:
1. Confirm with the photographer whether or not hair or makeup will be provided or if you should come with your hair and make up done. If the latter, check to see if there are any specific requirements.
2. Moisturize your skin and your lips! Healthy and even skin and moisturized lips make great photos! Make sure skin is primed before adding make up so it doesn’t settle in wrinkles and apply lip gloss often to keep lips from becoming chapped.
3. Remove unwanted hair! Shave armpits, arms and legs and wax eyebrows, lips and chin if necessary. Hair removal during editing is no fun!
4. Get your rest. There is nothing worse than a model that shows up with bags under their red eyes. A rested model has bright, rested eyes!
